Effects of Pinching and Growth Regulators on Growth and Flowering of Sedum rotundifolium


Abstract
In order to obtain basic data for production of pot flower with good quality, the effects of pinching frequencies and growth regulators on growth and flowering of Sedum rotundifolium were investigated. Numbers of lateral shoots and flowers increased with an increase in pinching frequency. In growth regulator treatments, uniconazole was the most effective in retarding of shoot growth among growth regulators used in this experiment. In uniconazole, both foliar spray and soil drench treatments were effective in growth reduction, and its retarding effect was maintained longer than other growth regulators. It was found that the foliar spray concentration of uniconazole for practical use was 0.5¡­1.0 §·¡¤L^(-1).
